CELIA consortium launches high-capacity submarine cable to enhance Caribbean connectivity

The CELIA consortium has launched a new high-capacity submarine fiber optic cable, connecting key Caribbean locations and Florida. Spanning over 3,700 km, the cable will provide an initial estimated capacity of over 170 terabits per second and support increased digital demand in the region. Expected to go live in 2027, CELIA will enhance connectivity, ensuring faster internet speeds, low latency, and greater network resilience, ultimately contributing to economic growth and bridging the digital divide in the Caribbean.
