Dr. Vernon Paltoo is the President of the National Energy Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago. Since joining National Energy in 2004, he has held several senior positions including: Team Leader, Business Development; Manager, Energy Industry Development; and Vice President, Operations. He has worked on the development, implementation and management of Industrial Infrastructure and Energy Related Projects through several State Agencies and Academic Institutions fomore than twenty years 

Dr. Paltoo currently serves on the Boards of the NGC CNG Company Limited, the National Energy Skills Center (NESC) and the Energy Chamber of Trinidad and Tobago (ECTT). Previously he has also been a member of the Boards of the Petroleum Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (Petrotrin) and InvesTT Limited. Dr. Paltoo has lectured on a part-time basis at both the University of the West Indies (UWI) and the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) on multiple aspects of the energy industry. His areas of expertise include Industrial Development, Engineering Design, Energy Economics and Project Economics. He has a B.Sc. in Chemical and Process Engineering and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, both from the University of the West Indies.
