Brazil’s Senate has approved Bill 278/2026, creating a special tax regime for data centers that ties incentives to meeting electricity demand through renewable or low-emission sources. The measure, now awaiting presidential approval, could boost demand for solar and wind power while supporting self-generation, PPAs and energy storage linked to data center expansion.
