Marco Antonio Escobar, Director of the Laguna Colorada geothermal project in Bolivia, has confirmed he will present at GEOLAC 2017. His participation coincides with what many regard as meaningful progress on the project. Costa Rica’s ICE has entered into a partnership with Bolivian entities to build a 5 MW pilot plant, a precursor to collaboration on what is regarded as 100 MW of geothermal potential with a price tag of over US$600m. Much of the funding for the project is expected to flow from JICA.
