Evo Morales, president of Bolivia, has approved a project for final design studies for 3,251 MW and 425 MW hydro projects. The contract, which is schedule to be signed next week, will be carried out by Geodata Engineering, an Italian firm.
The design work will cost US$15 million and take 15 months. Once the design studies are completed, construction of the two hydro sites will take 5 – 6 years and US$6 billion. Read more here.
