William Crosbie

Special Consultant on the Blue Economy


William Crosbie is a special consultant on the Blue Economy for Global Affairs Canada, and was the Project Coordinator of the 2018 Sustainable Blue Economy Conference in Nairobi. Prior to this, Mr. Crosbie worked for Global Affairs Canada as Ambassador to Afghanistan, and later as Assistant Deputy Minister.

Mr. Crosbie graduated from Memorial University in 1978 with a B.A. in political science and in history. He is also a graduate of Dalhousie University in 1982 with an LLB. He joined the Department of Foreign Affairs in 1993 and was posted in the Washington Embassy as minister-counselor.
