Announcing: CREF Project Awards for 2017

As project development region-wide ramps up, the organizers of CREF are pleased to announce a collaboration with Rocky Mountain Institute/Carbon War Room to recognize excellence in project execution in the Caribbean. Supported by an industry-leading Advisory Committee, awards will be made across the following categories: Best Utility Scale Wind, Best Utility Scale Solar, Best Storage Project, Best Distributed Generation Project, Best Microgrid, Best Biomass, and Best Project Financing. 

The CREF Project awards committee who will select the year’s best projects will include Dr. Cletus Bertin, CEO of CARILEC, Dr. Devon Gardner, Programme Director of Energy at CARICOM, Doug Hewson, Managing Partner at Portland Private Equity, Nils Janson, Executive Vice President of Castalia, Adam Carter, Managing Director at CIBC FirstCaribbean, and Chris Burgess, Director of Projects at CWR/RMI.

Project awards will be judged across a series of criteria, including: Innovative approaches to financing, procurement, good value for consumers, and precedence setting for future renewables.
