Amazon Web Services (AWS) has received environmental court approval to proceed with its US$205 million data center project in the Huechuraba district of Santiago, Chile, after an appeal seeking to block the development was dismissed. The court ruled that concerns about links to a nearby high-voltage transmission line did not constitute a single fragmented project requiring additional review. The facility is part of Amazon’s broader plan to invest nearly US$4 billion in data infrastructure in Chile over the next 15 years.
