Amazon has opened its first Caribbean distribution hub in the Dominican Republic, based at Las Américas International Airport in Santo Domingo, to strengthen regional e-commerce logistics. The hub operates seven weekly cargo flights from Miami and leverages the country’s ports and new e-commerce terminal to process an additional 4 million packages annually. Positioned as Amazon’s second hub in Latin America, the initiative is expected to boost trade, streamline shipments, and establish the Dominican Republic as a key logistics gateway for the Caribbean.
