A Peruvian agro-exporter, Agroexportaciones Nor Peru, has installed a 39.04 kWp solar photovoltaic system to power irrigation for its organic banana plantations in Piura, ittself in the Piura region. Supported by the ProInnóvate program of Peru’s Ministry of Production, the system helps supply energy for water pumping under a distributed generation model.
