AES Andes expands Chile solar-plus-storage hub with launch of Andes Solar III

AES Andes has launched Andes Solar III in Chile’s Antofagasta region, a 171 MW solar plant paired with a 171 MW battery storage system, expanding its Andes Solar hub built over nearly a decade with more than US$1.3 billion in investment. The hub now totals 692 MW of solar and 510 MW of storage, making it one of Chile’s most concentrated battery clusters, with additional storage under development at the Bolero site.
