Acciona Energía will install a 1-GWh battery storage system at its Malgarida solar complex in Chile, enabling up to five hours of stored solar power to be used at night. Scheduled for early 2027, it will be one of Latin America’s largest BESS projects and adds to the company’s growing storage pipeline alongside its existing 922 MW of renewable capacity in the country.
