Elva Williams-Richards, SVP for Finance and Corporate Planning at the Port Authority of Jamaica, has confirmed she will participate in the inaugural CARIF in Nassau in December. The Government of Jamaica recently announced that it is moving to convert the shipping ports in Montego Bay into a regional multipurpose port. At a recent press conference Dr. Horace Chang, Minister without Portfolio in the Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, stated that “significant investments (are) proceeding. The fuel terminal alone is being implemented at a cost of about US$175 million. It’s the first of its kind in the Caribbean.”
