Dominica prepares to commission landmark 10 MW geothermal plant

Dominica is set to commission its 10 MW geothermal power plant on July 31, marking a major milestone in the country’s transition to a cleaner and more resilient energy system. Backed by a US$51.45 million financing package led by the World Bank and other partners, the project will supply renewable electricity under a power purchase agreement with DOMLEC while supporting local job creation and Dominica’s goal of becoming the world’s first climate-resilient nation powered by sustainable energy.
