Peru’s National Port Authority has granted authorization for Horizonte de Verano to develop the country’s first green hydrogen port terminal in Arequipa, marking a major step toward building a large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia production complex. The project includes a desalination plant and a massive solar PV installation of up to 5.85 GWp, powered by renewable energy. The port infrastructure will feature ammonia storage, underwater pipelines, and offshore loading facilities, supporting export-oriented green hydrogen production.
