Brazil’s electricity regulator ANEEL has approved a long-awaited regulatory framework for energy storage systems, setting rules for grid connection and enabling broader deployment of batteries beyond behind-the-meter applications. The decision also prepares the market for a planned national capacity auction for battery storage, expected before the end of 2026.
