Banque des Territoires and Bpifrance have announced a joint financing package to support the expansion and modernization of the Bouillante geothermal power plant in Guadeloupe. The funding includes approximately US$3.7 million in investment and a US$25.4 million loan that will support exploratory drilling, infrastructure upgrades, and equipment modernization to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs. Owned by Ormat Technologies, the 15.5 MW facility currently supplies around 10% of Guadeloupe’s electricity needs, with expansion plans aimed at doubling its capacity.
