Colombia launches pilot tests of low-emission hydrogen in tractor-trailers

Colombia’s Ministry of Mines and Energy has started pilot tests injecting low‑emission hydrogen into heavy tractor‑trailers to evaluate its technical, economic, and environmental performance as a way to reduce emissions and support the country’s energy transition. The trials, applying hydrogen produced by electrolysis in two trucks under real‑world conditions, aim to gather data on fuel use and pollutants to inform future policies and promote hydrogen use in heavy freight transport.
