Peru plans to bring at least nine solar power projects online by 2028, adding a combined 1,420 MW of capacity with total investments of about US$1.27 billion, according to the Ministry of Energy and Mines. Scheduled for completion between 2026 and 2028, the projects will connect to the National Interconnected Electric System and help diversify the country’s energy mix while cutting emissions. Key developments include the 396 MW Illa solar plant in Arequipa, along with several other large-scale projects advancing in regions such as Arequipa and Moquegua.
