The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has granted a US$77 million sovereign guarantee to Ecuador to encourage private investment in renewable energy projects. The support will help develop over 820 MW of new solar and wind capacity across up to 12 projects selected through a public bidding process led by the Ministry of Energy and Mines.
