BESS del Desierto is Latin America’s first large-scale stand-alone energy storage plant inaugurated in Chile

The BESS del Desierto plant, inaugurated in Chile by Atlas Renewable Energy, is the first large-scale stand-alone energy storage facility in Latin America. Located in the Atacama Desert, the 200 MW plant has a storage capacity of 800 MWh and is designed to store solar energy during peak generation times and release it during peak demand.
