A research team from Spain’s University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) has helped install solar panels and communication networks in eight remote communities in the Ecuadorian Amazon, benefiting nearly 500 people. The project, funded by IEEE Sight-HTB, involved several universities and institutions and has improved access to education, healthcare, and sustainable energy. At the Wasakentsa health center and school, the solar power systems have enabled digital learning, telemedicine, and reliable electricity.
