Chile approves 250 MW “BESS La Isla” project for enhanced grid flexibility and decarbonization goals

The Chilean Environmental Impact Assessment System (SEIA) has approved the 250 MW “Battery Energy Storage System – BESS La Isla” project in Llay Llay, Valparaíso, which will use lithium ferrophosphate (LFP) battery technology with a total capacity of 1,250 MWh. The project aims to integrate with the National Electric System to enhance flexibility, security, and economic efficiency, supporting Chile’s decarbonization goals.
