  • Grenergy to receive financing for 14 solar plants in Chile

    Grenergy, the Spanish company producing energy from renewable sources and specialized in the development, construction and operation of photovoltaic and wind projects, has closed with Natixis on financing of 14 new solar plants in Chile for €70 million (around $85 million). Source 

  • InterEnergy acquires 34-MW wind farm plus pipeline in Dominican Republic

    Energy solutions provider InterEnergy Group announced the acquisition of the 34-MW Matafongo onshore wind farm plus an under-development project pipeline in the Dominican Republic.   Source

  • Colombia and Chile join forces to lead the incorporation of hydrogen as a clean energy source in Latin America

    The governments of Colombia and Chile have joined forces to help consolidate a competitive hydrogen export market to other continents, where the two countries position themselves as large-scale producers of this fuel as they continue leading the path toward the energy transition in Latin America.   Source

  • Utility to operate as private company despite Grenada owning majority shares

      Grenada’s Finance Minister Gregory Bowen says the light and power company in that Caribbean country, Grenlec, will continue to operate as a private company under the Companies Act, although the government has repurchased the majority shares owned by WRB Enterprises since 1994.   Source

    Mexico’s CFE and France to cooperate on implementing ORC units at geothermal fields

    January 5, 2021

    State-owned utility and power company CFE (Federal Electricity Commission) has signed a cooperation agreement with the French embassy in Mexico to develop geothermal energy. The agreement will explore the use of binary cycle technology with resources from the French government’s Study Funds and Assistance to the Private Sector (FASEP).   Source

  • MPC Capital says construction complete on 6.4-MWp El Salvador solar farm

    Hamburg-based asset manager MPC Muenchmeyer Petersen Capital AG announced that the construction of its 6.4-MWp San Isidro solar project in El Salvador had been finalized.   Source
