UAE-Caribbean Renewable Energy Fund announces recipients

Recipients of the third cycle of the EAU-Caribbean Renewable Fund were announced during IRENA’s General Assembly, last Sunday.

Funds were assigned to Jamaica, Cuba, Surinam and Trinidad and Tobago. In total, projects will provide 2.35 MW of solar energy and 600 kW of battery storage plants. The savings of these projects are estimated at USD 1.1 million. 

Some projects receiving funds have already been completed, including a 900 kW solar PV plant for EV charging stations in the Bahamas, a 350 kW solar-powered EV garage and 500 kW solar plant  in Barbados, and a 600 kW solar plant and 600 kW battery storage in St. Vincent & the Grenadines.
