Thermal Energy Partners begin final design for Nevis geothermal project

Technical teams arrived in Nevis last month to make final preparations with the Nevis Electric Utility (NEVLEC) before launching the construction of the island’s first geothermal power plant. Thermal Energy Partners, LLC (TEP) has joined Turboden, Clemessy and subsidiary, Eiffage, in a joint venture to provide EPC services for the project. Turboden was selected by TEP for ORC technology vendor back in March.

The purpose of the visit was to keep progress on schedule and meet the target deadline for a completed geothermal plant at the end of 2017. The combination of these 3 partners and technical teams represent a transformative team that is setting the standard for creating an entirely green economy with substantial economic benefits. Upon completion, TEP will provide resilient, renewable and base-load power to NEVLEC – thus enabling a more resilient economy for St. Kitts and Nevis.
