The Bahamas aims to incorporate 30% of renewables into the national grid by 2030.

The Ministry of Environment and Housing in the country is working on a plan which will make renewable energy mandatory for the construction of new homes from the Government Subdivisions. This policy will have the objective to bring greater residential energy while promoting and enhancing sustainable development. 

 Romauld Ferreira, the Minister of  Environment and Housing, said that this new policy will help reach the Ministry’s goal to incorporate 30 percent renewables into the national grid by the year 2030 while promoting growth and development in the country.
