Teranov receives geothermal licenses for Saba and St. Eustatius

Preliminary surface investigations have already begun on Saba and St. Eustatius following the issuing of geothermal exploratory licenses to French developer, Teranov. These permits, exclusive to Teranov, authorize the developer to explore the geothermal resource over three years to qualify the resource for further development. Teranov will also have priority rights to develop the resource. Jacques Chouraki, President of Teranov said that the licenses are steps in the project Leeward Islands’ Geothermal and Digital Interconnection Hub in Saint-Martin. “With these permits granted, Teranov reinforces its position in the Caribbean geothermal market.

Teranov is the selected developer for geothermal exploration on St. Kitts and is also part of a consortium to explore geothermal energy in Guadeloupe.
