Hermenegildo Altozano is partner and heads Bird & Bird Projects, Energy and Infrastructures practice in Madrid. He specialises in project, advising on transactions and projects in Spain and Latin America, and provides investment protection and arbitration advice in relation to Latin America.

Hermenegildo advises international companies on projects in Cuba. He has wide industry experience and an understanding not only of the legal but also the commercial issues that challenge our clients’ business objectives. He is an internationally leading recognised expert in Cuba and is ranked in Band 1 of Chambers & Partners for Cuba

Hermenegildo is the director of the Senior Program in Energy Law at the Instituto de Empresa (Madrid). He is a regular participant in the radio program “La Tertulia Capital” in Capital Business Radio.

He has been awarded the International Law Office Client Choice Awards 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015 and also considered the Best Energy Lawyer in Spain by Best Lawyers in 2012 and 2015.
