Spanish delegation arrives in Caribbean to collaborate on renewable energy, Blue Economy policies

An official delegation from Spain’s Canary Islands arrived in the French Overseas Collectivité of Saint Martin (Saint Martin), to discuss and share best practices on the development of renewable energies, climate change adaptation and policies to grow their Blue Economy.

Saint Martin currently presides over the Conference of Presidents of the European Union Outermost Regions.

This delegation and series of meetings follows a Memorandum signed last November, between Fernando Clavijo, President of the Government of Canarias and Daniel Gibbs, President of Saint Martin. This document set its aims for a “high-level meeting” to investigate common strategies and share experiences in the development of research and design for renewable energies, climate change adaptation, and professional training geared towards the growth of the Blue Economy.
