Solar PV/ Battery hybrid power plant in Barbuda to receive funding from New Zealand

A renewable energy power plant in Barbuda will receive funding from the New Zealand government with the wider aim of supporting the re-development of the island.

New Zealand Ambassador Anton Ojala announced that Auckland would provide half a million USD for the UAE Power Station and Solar PV/ Battery Hybrid Plant in Cardington after meeting with Antigua and Barbuda’s Foreign Affairs Minister, E.P. Chet Greene.

Both countries’ representatives discussed the common challenges confronting their nations, especially climate change.

This partnership will further the Barbudan government’s vision of turning the island into a green and climate-resilient nation.
