Solar in Barbados – Capacity Set to Double in 2016

Over the past two years, the capacity of solar in Barbados has increased five times — from 1.6 MW in 2013 to over 9MW in 2015. Barbados’ solar capacity will double in size in 2016 when Canadian-based Emera completes the installation of a 10MW utility-scale system. The completion of this project will move Barbados several steps closer to achieving its goal of sourcing 29% of its energy from renewable sources by 2029.
