Research Station in Costa Rica the first to become 100% renewable

The Research Biological Station, La Selva, located in Costa Rica, is set the become the first research station in Latin America to operate on 100 percent solar energy. Enertiva, a local solar company, will expand the station capacity from 184 to 310 solar panels. Energy consumption represents 25% of the station’s operating costs, so this investment in solar energy will achieve both goals of reducing costs and protecting the environment.
