Puerto Rico wants to increase renewable energy output to 40 percent

The governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Roselló, stated that the objective of the island is to increase the use of renewable energy to 40%. This, the governor stated, will give the citizens of the islands alternatives, regulate prices, independence and will help protect the environment and fight climate change.

This statement goes in line with the new director of State Authority of Electric Energy (AEE), José Ortiz, which wants to prioritize investments in microgrids, solar and wind projects.
