Progress for ocean thermal USVI pilot project

Ocean Thermal Energy Corp, or OTE, has finished the first draft of the master plan for a renewables-powered EcoVillage in the US Virgin Islands. Lancaster, Pennsylvania-based OTE designs and develops deep-water hydrothermal clean energy systems that generate renewable power through Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC). The company has clearance to build an OTEC pilot project on the island of St Croix in the US Virgin Islands. Specific plots of land are identified for the site and OTEC has a goal to provide power and water to 400 residences, a hotel, and a shopping center.
