Panama building first large-scale residential solar installation

A joint project between Colombia energy company, Celsia, and Real Estate Group Provivienda will bring solar PV to 350 homes at La Hacienda, in Panamá Oeste, Panama. This residential complex, as a whole, will avoid the emission of 188 tons of carbon dioxide per year and will benefit from representative energy savings. Celsia and Grupo Provivienda will make the joint investment under a 25-year agreement, in which Celsia will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the system. The installation will take place during the first semester of 2018. Gustavo Franco, of the New Business team of Celsia in Central America, said that this residential project has been very popular in the country, because “it represents an important milestone in terms of innovation, since the solar energy solution is already incorporated in the home from the moment of purchase, which means that customers should not invest too much. Projects like this consolidate Celsia’s proposal as a provider of agile and reliable solutions. ”
