New solar power self-consumption installation in Costa Rica

Solar power company Enertiva has started construction on a 244kWp in the Guanacaste province in Costa Rica.

Enertiva designs, commercialises and installs solar technology solutions in Central America. The company currently operates in Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panamá and Nicaragua.

The project now under construction in Costa Rica will include the installation of more than 700 solar PV panels. The solar power plant will provide energy for an upcoming project in the PIMA Chorotega region, which will include a new food wholesale market and trading centre for the agricultural business of the region. A strategic plan to encourage and support the region’s economy, this commercial and market hub is expected to benefit over 16 000 producers and 400 000 inhabitants.

This solar power plant comes on the heels of another project led by Enertiva. The company finalised one of the largest solar roof installations in Costa Rica a few weeks ago, a 1.1MW solar power plant in the commercial and social centre, OXÍGENO Human Playground.
