Microgrid and storage system installed in school in Puerto Rico

Five companies – Black & Veatch, Tesla, Canadian Solar, Lloyd Electric and SunCarte Energy –  have contributed to the installation of a microgrid and storage facility for a rural school located in the district of Yabucoa in Puerto Rico.

This installation has the capacity to generate up to 156 kWh in one day and store from 10kWh to 135 kWh. This system will allow for a constant and reliable supply of energy for the school, which hosts approximately 160 students. Moreover, the companies investing in this project, hope that this school can also become a Community Centre for the region, with the capacity to serve as an Emergency Response agency.
