Mexico receives new proposals for 754.7 MW of solar

Developers have submitted proposals to Mexico’s Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) to build 754.7 MW of large-scale solar capacity at six locations, less than a month after several companies applied for permission to develop 843.6 MW.

The number of PV projects submitted for approval to the Mexican authorities has increased considerably over the past month, reaching nearly 1.6 GW since the first week of September. According to Semarnat’s weekly bulletins, six solar projects with a combined capacity of 754.4 MW were submitted for approval in the two-week period from September 14 to September 27.
