Invenergy, EPM partner to bring more renewable energy capacity to Colombia

U.S. energy firm Invenergy announced a joint venture with with Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM) to bring more than 400MW of renewable energy capacity to Colombia over the next five years. EPM is looking to expand beyond hydropower, which includes its problem-plagued Hidroituango dam project. This new enterprise has Invenergy developing and operating wind and solar projects that EPM will sell the energy from.
