Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago to share details of energy agreement

Guyana President, Mr. David Granger, announced the soon-to-be-signed Memorandum of Understanding on Energy Sector Cooperation is not a secret document and he would ask for it to be made public.

The MOU is “consistent with our rights and obligations within CARICOM, said Mr. Carl Greenidge, Guyana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, “and in keeping our relationship with Trinidad and Tobago”.

This MOU is one of two agreements between Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago on the energy sector. The first, renewed earlier this year, is a platform to discuss all bilateral cooperation, whilst the second will be specifically for cooperation in oil and gas.
