GreenTech Solar to invest US$20 million for renewable projects in Antigua and Barbuda

The Cayman Island solar company, GreenTech Solar, has signed a US$20 million deal to bring renewable energy to Antigua and Bermuda.

The solar company will provide 10 MW of renewable power to Antigua and Barbuda which is looking to provide energy to more than 30 sites such as hospitals, schools, movement buildings and car parks. If done correctly, this project will provide approximately 10% of the island’s energy needs.

Moreover this project will be the largest renewable energy deal in Antigua and Barbuda’s history, after a competitive bid process and will use the renewable installations to provide power directly to the buildings they adorn, rather than selling energy back to the grid.
