EU to provide US$105m to the Green Fund of Central America

The European Union and other international organisations have committed US$105m for the Green Fund for the Central American Economic Integration System (SICA). The objective of the fund is to help promote the development of renewables and resilience projects and programs in the region.

SICA will use this investment to promote projects and public policies that incentivize the use of renewable sources, specifically for small and medium enterprises. The German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) will administer the program, in conjunction with the Central American Commission for Environment and Development.
