Bolivia and El Salvador have negotiated a partnership in renewable energy infrastructure. One aspect of the agreement is a 5 MW MW geothermal project in Bolivia, built by LaGeo of El Salvador. The construction of a thermoelectric plant in El Salvador will also be supported by the agreement.

Minister of Hydrocarbons and Energy, Luis Alberto Sanchez, believes that a partnership between the state-owned energy companies of ENDE and LaGeo, to Bolivia and El Salvador respectively, will help make geothermal energy and thermoelectric more competitive in a market dominated by diesel and LPG. David Lopez, President of the Electricity Sector in El Salvador, expressed the commitment of LaGeo and EL Salvador to the development of geothermal products in Bolivia.
