El Salvador company aims for increased geothermal power generation

LaGeo has confirmed its commitment to increase the generation of electricity and energy from geothermal power in El Salvador.

President of LaGeo, Lic. Mynor Gil, confirmed this during a visit to one of the company’s geothermal power plants. LaGeo will “to boost the production of the ‘white gold’ for the benefit of El Salvador development.”

This announcement comes soon after LaGeo’s decision to expand one of its geothermal power plant using ORC technology supplied by Turboden.

The company’s strategy fits with El Salvador’s goal to increase renewable energy production

LaGeo, part of the CEL Corporative Group, is a company dedicated to production of geothermal energy.

Currently, 23% of El Salvador’s energy matrix is from geothermal sources.
