Eastern Caribbean government buildings to get solar

The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the association Solar Head of State to adopt solar rooftops for key government buildings across the region.

Last week in Jamaica, the two entities met to develop a regional strategy for photovoltaic power systems at government facilities for all members of the OECS. This will improve the efficiency and increase public savings for governments and island economies. Solar Head of State has already begun works for the first PV system in Saint Lucia’s at the Governor-General building. The 5.4 KW project will help reduce GHG and save approximately USD150,000.
