Dominica: geothermal projects should not be on back-burner

UK Parlimentary Under Secretary of State for International Development, Baroness Sandip Verma, paid an official visit to Dominica this week. She expressed the UK government’s interest in long term economic development in a statement:  

“You obviously have a vision for your country,” she said to the Hon. Prime Minister Skerrit. “We also have a vision for how we can support your growth agenda. My urge to you is that there is funds available, about $20m.”

The Baroness urged the Hon. Prime Minister not to delay with implementation of geothermal projects, and that proving to investors the seriousness of Dominica’s plans will give the Country a competitive edge for energy pricing.
