We have received numerous requests for the insightful presentation on prospects for renewables development in Cuba delivered at CREF 2015. Delivered with aplomb by David Verbiwski of the Canadian consulate in Havana, the presentation made clear that while there are substantial opportunities in Cuba, the recent thawing of relations with the U.S. – while significant – will not translate into an overnight transformation of the climate for investment. For U.S. investors, in particular, the market will remain challenging to access; for all investors, the ability to look long-term is a pre-requisite.
