A geothermal power plant in Bolivia, near the Chilean border, will soon enter into construction stage.
The contract for construction of the geothermal power plant was awarded to Sacyr Industrial -their first geothermal project- and Ormat, an established leader in renewable energy projects development.
The 5MW power plant will be located in the Sol de Mañana geothermal field, close to the Chilean border and the famous Uyuni salt flats.
The contract is valued at over USD 17 million, announced Bolivia’s Ministry for the Economy and Public Finances.
The power plant will be inaugurated in 2021.
