BMR Energy to acquire solar park in US Virgin Islands

BMR Energy, a clean energy firm, is set to acquire a 4 MW solar park, St. Croix, in the US Virgin Islands. St Croix solar plant, sustained significant damage last year due to Hurricane Maria. The company, which has already started repairing the damage and replacing inverters, plans to restore the PV plant to its full capacity by October.

Since the hurricane season, St. Croix park has been operating at less than 45% of its capacity. Once the power plant is in full operations, it can produce electricity for approximately 1,600 households. BMR Energy is considering purchasing additional solar farms damaged by severe weather events.
